ASK DR. CARDA



Q. I’m seeing weight loss results on the DMX Life Coaches’ Challenge and I’m so excited! I’ve been walking two miles a couple of times a week, and I’d like to increase my exercise but it’s been really hot. Do you have any suggestions?

A. This week’s question is being answered by Life Coaches Dr. Carda and Personal Trainer Rhonda Roth.

Dr. Carda: A great way to keep cool while you exercise is to occasionally trade your gym towel for a beach towel… well, a pool towel, anyway. Water is heavier than air, so any move you do in a pool has more “resistance” to it. Try standing in water up to your neck, and walking while swinging your arms. You can also “tread water” by using your arms and legs to stay afloat in deep water. Important Tip: Stay hydrated!

Rhonda: The most important advice I can give you is to avoid overheating, so try to exercise either early morning or late evening when it is cooler. Be sure to drink plenty of water and also drink something like Gatorade to replace electrolytes you’ll lose through sweat. Really listen to your body; don't push yourself too hard. You’ll find that high humidity makes it more difficult to breath, so you may want to exercise indoors on those days.

You have the amazing privilege of the freedom to build a business that will afford you the lifestyle you dream of for your family.

As we prepare to celebrate the 4th of July, I wanted to share some thoughts on Freedom and the right of U.S. citizens’ to have Independence.

In the Declaration of Independence’s 2nd paragraph we are greeted by these words “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

DynaMAXX embraces these values and is in the pursuit of helping people obtain each of those items stated. Sometimes though, individuals seem to miss what I would like to think is fairly obvious, and that is this, “Freedom is Not Free.” People forget that we need to pay a price for our freedom. I am humbly reminded of this when I ponder the final words of The Declaration of Independence, which state, "For the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of the Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."  

The 56 signers of The Declaration of Independence fulfilled their written words by their actions, the following is a summary of what was typical of those who risked everything for the right to live a life with freedom as its foundation. This was their Dream and their Vision not only for themselves, but for all those who would live in this nation. Reflect upon what some of them went through. The source or author who listed the following facts is Unknown, none the less they are very compelling.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKean was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.

While the timing may not be right for everyone to become an Associate, when people experience the results of our products, virtually everyone is ready to become an elite (cash-saving) customer.

In a discussion between Co-Founders Bill Ladwig and Jay Archer, Bill mentions, “Creating steady cash flow is a crucial part of every business. To create long-term residual income you absolutely need to build your team, but creating more immediate cash flow is mission-critical for a healthy DynaMAXX business.”

Jay agrees, and explains how to do just that. “We simply build the business by teaching people how to REDIRECT the money they are already spending, to get sleep, energy, detoxify and lose weight.” 

Many direct sales companies build a network of distributors, who stock and deliver products. Q. I eat on-the-go constantly, so I usually have my shake for breakfast. Do you have any suggestions for drive through meals? I know “drive through” isn’t a good plan, but my life is so busy right now!

A. While drive-through food is definitely not ideal, there are some good options out there. But first, have you tried combining the meal replacement with a Lights ON in a bottle of water? Corporate VPs Greg Petralia and Geof Ferfort love this easy option. When you can, get fresh veggies and lean protein. Many fast food restaurants offer a grilled chicken salad of some kind. Here’s where it gets tricky: salad dressing. I suggest you try the low fat options, keeping in mind that lower fat can mean more sugar. Another option is a grilled chicken sandwich with leaf lettuce. You can remove the bread and “wrap” the chicken and veggies in the leaf lettuce.

You can be rare - an amazing anomaly!

I always like to say that life and our business run parallel in values and characteristics.

Over this past week I and a few DynaMAXX leaders had something in common, we each celebrated our own wedding anniversaries. Congratulation goes out to District Vice President Pam and Chris Ortiz for 6 great years, to National Director Chenea and Ron Taylor for 20 years, to Regional Directors Ramie and Jeannie Haines for celebrating 30 “as they say” wonderful years and then my wife and I had the great fortune to celebrate our 27th year anniversary.

In exchanging congratulations with Ramie and Jeannie, we all agreed that we are becoming a rarity and an anomaly when it comes to a long lasting relationship. So here are some of my parallels.

When I met my wife it was a being in the right place at the right time kind of thing, just like for many of you when the DynaMAXX opportunity came along. After marrying, we started the duplication process: my wife and I have 6 wonderful children (our personally sponsored!)

Just like the business, we have our good times, some rough times and super fun times. We have grown tremendously by sacrificing for each other, by having dreams that we have chased together and hard work-- our downline can be a lot of work, if you know what I mean!

Most of all, we have never given up on something that is priceless, an unconditional love that creates a never-ending passion for our lives together.

This business is about relationships; it’s about growing and working hard and most of all, it is finishing what you started and never giving up on it! When you have this type of commitment to your dreams, the DynaMAXX opportunity will help you become “Rare and an Anomaly” in a society that needs to see people achieving this type of success!

Q. Help! I’ve hit a plateau in my weight loss!

A. Don’t worry, this is completely normal! If you’re following the program exactly, your body may be experiencing a lot of changes—from less processed foods to regular activity. First, let’s make sure your plateau is simply a normal biological response to having lost some weight after the changes you’ve made. Double check your food journal, to make sure you haven’t let extra snacks creep into your day and to ensure you’re still exercising at least every other day. If you discover you’ve slipped, simply refocus and get back on track. If you have been conscientiously following the program, then relax, and trust that plateaus are a normal coping response of the body. Note: in this hot weather, be sure you’re drinking at least 8 cups (64 oz) of water a day during mild weather. Increase this amount when temperatures are soaring.

BUILD IT BIG: GREG’S GEMS



Do you want to be happy and fulfilled, leaving behind guilt and regret?

One of my favorite authors is a man by the name of Andy Andrews; his personal story inspires me as well as his writings. He has chosen to base most of his books on people’s lives that have made a difference in the world. In his book The Lost Choice he makes a very profound statement that I have often pondered. It reads as follows:

“A person who is acting upon an idea is happy and fulfilled. But a person who only intends to do this or that spirals into an ever-deepening pool of guilt and regret.”  He further states, “I am convinced – that every choice one makes and every action one takes, OR DOESN’T TAKE, significantly affects the lives of everyone else. We are all connected to each other through our actions. Our decisions to act or not to act, to help or not to help-well, those choices create a ripple effect that can last for centuries”.

Our opportunity magnifies this concept in so many ways. One Lights On or Off sample packet can change a life forever; one event can create a choice that may result in freedom for many. A few weekends ago 10 individuals partook in such an event. It was the first ever “DynaMAXX Masters of Leadership Invitational” each and every person attending said it was a life changing experience; it was from the heart, for the heart! A cohesive vision was established and enlarged to the point of unwavering belief. A belief that DynaMAXX is a company of heart, and that individual’s value is priceless.

Think what would have happened if Bill Ladwig and Jay Archer had not acted upon their idea to create such a company? Think of the lives that have been positively impacted because of the DynaMAXX products, the financial opportunity and a great environment to grow and unlock one’s own greatness.

Reflect upon the personal choices and actions you make on a daily basis. Is your ripple effect going to make a positive impact or a negative one? Are you holding back the opportunity to significantly change your life and more importantly the lives of those you were supposed too!! The choice is yours!
